“World powers must focus on human survival rather than wars”
World powers should focus on the survival and safety of human beings and solve problems through dialogue instead of opting for wars.
These views were voiced by religious leaders at a three-day global interfaith conference, titled “Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence”, held under the patronage of King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Al-Fida Square. of the royal palace of Sakhir in Manama.
In addition to Pope Francis, Sheikh Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb and other world-renowned religious and academic leaders, the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Interfaith Harmony and the Middle East Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Council President of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Qibla Ayaz, entered the contest.
They were of the view that Russia and Ukraine should stop the war and start the negotiation process to settle all issues relating to the survival and security of mankind in the region.
“Prosperity and development are only possible through interreligious intersections and dialogues around the world,” they said.
They said Western countries must play an important role in addressing the challenges of climate change and increasing poverty around the world. They believed that all religions on earth taught love and peace.
After the conclusion of the global interfaith forum, Ashrafi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), said APPLICATION that the leadership of Bahrain has taken a step in the right direction and that this will help to bring people of various faiths closer together and eliminate their differences.
Expressing his gratitude for the active participation of Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and religious scholars from other religions and sects in the forum, he said he gave a strong message of love, peace and brotherhood to the world.
Ashrafi said the same great message was also delivered by the Haramain Sharifain, the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding that the efforts of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and other countries for the promotion of religious pluralism were valuable.
Ashrafi said it was the duty of the ummah to elevate the status of Muslims and protect their interests and rights worldwide.
“We appreciate the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and followers of other religions and civilizations to open the doors of dialogue, as such initiatives would help to expand the areas of dialogue, to exchange ideas, to discuss measures of a common strategy to deal with persistent social threats of violence and extremism and provide ample opportunity to sit together at the same table,” he added.
He said that the Muslim World League, the leaders of the Muslim world and the religious scholars of Pakistan had spread the message of Islam in its true context to the whole world in the form of the charter of Pakistan, the charter of human coexistence and the message of Pakistani documents.
He said that the UPC and its affiliated organizations endorsed the decisions made in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue in letter and spirit and reiterated to the world powers to adopt the peaceful path of dialogue instead of wars for solve their problems.
He said tendencies to spread hatred between countries and peoples should be suppressed. “Such forums can help bring out the facts and causes of extremism, prevent extremism and terrorism, and counter and expose sectarian groups,” he said.
