The village of Yehemi celebrates 100 years of Christianity
Dimapur, February 6 (EMN): Yehemi Village in Zunheboto District celebrated 100 years of Christianity on Feb. 6 with Tourism, Art and Culture Councilor H Khehovi Yeputhomi as a special guest.
Speaking on the show, the councilor praised the villagers of Yehemi for reaching 100 years of Christianity and described as one of the villages blessed by God, which has produced many prominent leaders. Among the village leaders were retired director of Wasteland and former Minister of Roads and Bridges Khutovi Aye, former MP Kanito Chophi, retired chief engineer of the water resources department Kughaho Chophy, the current Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department Hotovi Aye, Chief Justice of NSCN (IM) Vitoi Aye, Chairman of NSCN/GPRN led by Akato Chophi, Major General Aheto Chophi, etc.
Khehovi also said that Yehemi is a parent village of 13 villages, which migrated from Yehemi village and established separate villages, an update from the press secretary to the councilor said.
Khehovi also called on the people of Yehemi village to live exemplary lives as mature Christians as they pass the 100-year mark.
He further commended the people of Yehemi village for building their respective houses in the village, which has now grown into a well-developed town.
