The Dead Sea Scrolls and Early Christianity
Dr John Bergsma recently joined me to discuss the Dead Sea Scrolls and their influence on Early Christianity. What is the community of Qumran the Messiah? Who was the Master of righteousness? What was the significance of the ritual bath? What was so important about the way they prepared meals and the position of the president? It answers all of this and more.

Interview on the Dead Sea Scrolls
Quotes from the Dead Sea Scrolls
The interview with Dr Bergsma shows the influence these documents had on the early days of the Faith. Below are some quotes from the actual documents that Dr Bergsma elaborates on in his book.
Now, we have written to you some of the works of the Law, these
that we have determined would be beneficial to you and your
people, because we have seen that you have the insight and
knowledge of the Law. Understand all these things and beg
Him to rectify your advice and thus keep you away from evil
thoughts and advice from Belial. So you will rejoice in the
end time when you find the essence of our words to be true. And
righteousness will be imputed to you, in what you have done
what is right and good before Him, for your own sake and for
that of Israel.-4QMMT
The men will be seated in front of the priest in ranks, and in this
how their opinions will be solicited on any matter. When the table is set for
to eat or the new wine ready to drink, it is the priest who will extend his
hand first, blessing the first portion of the bread or new wine.
By his truth, God will then purify all human actions and refine some of the
humanity in order to extinguish all evil spirits from the inner parts 21 of the flesh,
purification from all evil deeds by a holy spirit. Like purifying waters, he must
sprinkle everyone with a spirit of truth, effective against all the abominations of lying, and
defile by an unclean spirit 22-1QS
