Steps of Faith Church Robbed | Christianity
TUCSON (KVOA) — Tucson police tell News 4 Tucson that someone broke into the Steps of Faith Church on Saturday night.
The parishioners at Steps of Faith Church had something else to pray for Sunday morning.
“The whole sound system was gone. The speakers, the monitors that we have here for song lyrics, presentations,” Celaya said.
And that’s not all. Church musical instruments and children’s supplies were also stolen. Celaya estimates the loss at more than $3,500.
Worshipers at the Sunday morning service said they couldn’t understand how someone could steal from a church.
“I never thought this would happen at my father’s house but I forgive him,” said Arick Tuchawana.
“It angers me to think that someone would do something to a church because you know it’s a place where people come to let go of the burdens they carry and worship God,” Eli Resendez said.
Coincidentally, Sunday’s sermon was about forgiveness.
“Forgiveness is not for the other person, forgiveness is for you.”
The pastor said that instead of getting angry, congregants should be thankful it’s not worse.
“What if someone had been there that night?” And they would have come in with guns, not roses, just guns. Something terrible could have happened.
Tucson police report there are no suspects at this time. If you have any information, you are encouraged to call 88-CRIME.
